You can make a positive impact in your neighborhood! Join Neighborhood Centers Inc as we continue our efforts to increase voter registration, engagement and turnout in the neighborhoods we serve and empower our communities. For Good.
Neighborhood Centers has long served those areas of Houston which have historically been underserved. Unfortunately, our neighbors are categorized as low propensity voters, which leaves a great majority of voices and needs unheard and ignored because political campaigns typically seek out voters who are most likely to vote. Enough is enough. This is your opportunity to make the needs and voices of our neighbors matter in this and future elections. There is more than one way to empower the members of our community. We have developed programs and hosted events that create leaders in our community. You can be part of this movement.
Join us at one or more of the many opportunities offered through Neighborhood Centers to inform and prepare our neighbors to vote in this year’s very important November Election. Help us show our neighbors that their vote matters. Their community matters. Their families matter. They matter.

BakerRipley, formerly known as Neighborhood Centers Inc. brings resources, education and connection to more than half a million people throughout Texas each year. For more than a century, we have offered innovative solutions to help low-income families in emerging neighborhoods get a foothold in the region’s economy. We work with residents in more than 70 service locations to help them discover the strengths and skills necessary to become productive, prosperous and self-sufficient. BakerRipley is a United Way agency.
Description
BakerRipley has a rich history in building communities that work since its early days when it was part of the Settlement House movement in the early 1900′s. When Alice Graham Baker founded the agency in 1907, the main intention behind it all was to help every resident of Houston have an opportunity for an education, for health, for work, and to become an informed participant in democracy.
100 years later, the purpose of BakerRipley hasn’t changed one bit.
What makes Houston so great are our vibrant and dynamic neighborhoods - the true engines of any metro. We believe that neighborhoods are the bridges between individuals and the regional economy. When we strengthen underserved neighborhoods, we can see how the quality of life is raised for everyone not just in that community, but the entire region.
We exist to keep our region a place of opportunity for everyone who is working for a better life.
