Work in STEAM(Science/Tech/Arts/Med)? Want to encourage and inspire girls in STEAM? Host a field trip/career day, we'll handle the rest.
(All info below)
Who are We? DIY ("Do-It-Yourself") Girls’ is a nonprofit organization working to increase girls’ interest and success in technology, engineering and making through innovative educational experiences and mentor relationships.
DIY Girls offers after-school and summer programs that provide hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) experiences for girls. Girls learn technical skills and apply them by creating their own creative projects and inventions.
What is my role?
As a field trip host, your organization would be hosting a visit from our girls so that they can see examples of the work that people do in STEAM in Southern Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley Area.
I want to host a field trip, but not right now: That is fine, we organize trips months in advance, so contact us even if you aren't prepared to host soon.
What is the time comittment?:One day. The schedule is determined case by case but usually 9am-12noon or 9:30am-2:30pm.
Do I need to organize everything? No. Our DIY Girls staff worl together to organize logistics and schedule details. We ask that you know how many students your site can accomodate.
