The Fundraising & Development Coordinator will be responsible for assisting Special Olympics Philadelphia's staff in securing the resources needed to fund our program. They will be responsible for working with staff to formulate and execute a various development initiatives to help Special Olympics Philadelphia meet the financial needs of our program. This individual will also help to promote already existing fundraising events and initiatives (Polar Plunge, Leprechaun Run) in order to make them more successul. They will also work closely with our athletes and families to engage them in our fundraising efforts.

The Fundraising & Development Coordinator can work from home, at our office, or both.A person in this role will be successful if they are able to put in a minimum of 2 hours of time each week, although leading up to fundraising events may require more. This position is a part of our Management Team that will meet in person bi-monthly for approximately 1-2 hours.

Length of Term: 1 year (flexible)

We do require occasional in person meetings, so we do ask that all interested persons live within the Philadelphia, PA region.

Description

Children and adults with developmental dissabilities train and compete in 20 different sports depending on season. Special Olympics athletes never pay a fee to train or compete. Special Olympics is a volunteer based organization.
