Mission Statement

Silicon Valley Pet Project (SVPP) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to saving local at-risk shelter pets through rescue, community involvement, and education.

Description

Silicon Valley Pet Project is structured by service with dedicated volunteer teams focused on rescue operations, foster parent support, adoption programs, educational initiatives, advocacy and community outreach. We are excited to provide a great experience where adoption is the preferred way to bring a new pet home! For more information about Silicon Valley Pet Project, visit our website at www.svpetproject.org

In May of 2016, Silicon Valley Pet Project reopened The Dancing Cat adoption lounge in San Jose. From May 2016 to August 2018, SVPP supported The Dancing Cat operations to achieve sustainability. We are proud to have achieved this goal and The Dancing Cat operates as an independent organization offering a creative space for the cat-loving community and finding loving homes for adult cats.

In October 2018, Silicon Valley Pet Project opened Silicon Valley's first dog community center, Pup Plaza. Core to our mission is community involvement and education, and we can only truly achieve that mission by having a presence in the community. Our new pop-up space in San Jose allows dog lovers to celebrate, bond and learn with their dogs, or maybe find a dog to join their family. Our one-of-a-kind community space will host adoption events where you could meet your future best friend and offers many opportunities to get involved in animal welfare in our community.
