VENICE AREA MOBILE MEALS, INC.
Venice Area Mobile Meals, Inc., a non-profit volunteer organization that provides a daily meal to people with physical or other disabilities, is seeking applicants to serve as president - also a volunteer position. The individual, who must be a fulltime resident of the greater Venice area, will serve a one year term.
The President provides leadership and management for the group, which delivers an average of 200 meals daily, six days a week. Over 200 volunteers make this mission possible. The organization originated in 1969 and became a 501 (c) (3) non-profit in 1978. It is well run, financially stable, and performs a vital service to the community.
Venice Mobile Meals is located at 920 Tamiami Trail South, on the grounds of Village on the Isle, which provides the meals to be delivered, as well as the assembly and office space for the organization.
Qualifications for President include financial acumen and experience; knowledge of software programs and use of Internet and Word processing; communication and interpersonal skills; public speaking competence; a welcoming personality, and the desire to be of service to the Venice area community.
The President’s hours are flexible, depending on the time needed to engage with the other officers of the organization and with the Board of Directors.
