Volunteer with RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) and it's long standing partner United Against Poverty (Formally Comminity Food and Outreach) to help serve Central Florida families.

What is United Against Poverty?

United Aganist Poverty is a local non-profit that has been serving the Orlando area for several years now. They support families by providing access to afforadable food by granting access to their cost-share grocery store, provide free adult education, crisis support and so much more!

RSVP volunteers support UAP by stocking their grocery store shelves and teaching classes to in their education center!

What is RSVP?

RSVP is a federally funded volunteer program for older adults 55 and older. RSVP you with essential volunteer opportunites to support community needs. Over 20 local nonprofit organizations depend on RSVP for volunteer support.

As a RSVP volunteer you choose what kind of volunteer assignment you want and when you want to volunteer. Opportunities range from supporting local hospitials, manning food pantries, teaching an adult to read, mentoring students, delivering nutritious meals to shut-ins and much more.

There are also short-term opportunities for those who wish to volunteer but don't want a scheduled activity.

Description

We are the leading organization for senior volunteerism in the greater Central Florida area, serving Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties. Just last year, 1,186 caring adult volunteers gave 438,683 hours of service. That is more than $9.5 million dollars worth of volunteer service being poured back into our communities.

Previously known as Florida Senior Programs, VCI has been the sponsoring agency for the REtired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Foster Grandparent Programs since 1977. Our 36 year presence has proven our aptitude for providing meaningful and impactful volunteer experiences.

VCI provides membership benefits and support to volunteers aged 55+, at no cost to the volunteers or their volunteer stations. Just a few of the benefits of membership include: Supplemental insurance while volunteering, a dedicated coordinator, and matching to find the perfect position to fit the interest of the volunteer.
