MathFest is a free celebration where children ages 3 - 11 and their families play carnival-like math games, win prizes and have fun. While playing, children and adults alike build their confidence in and enthusiasm for math. Volunteers are needed to play games with kids and families, run event registration, serve food, and set up and break down the event.
Event set up (3:30 pm - 4:30 pm)
Hang signs, set up game booths, set up computers for registration, etc.
Volunteer training and main event (4:00 pm - 8:00 pm)
You will receive instruction on your volunteer assignment, ranging from how to play math games and activities with elementary students, to registering guests, to hospitality tasks, and be ready to welcome families when the event starts at 5 p.m.
Event take down (8:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
You will help remove signage, take down game booths, close out computers used for registration, etc.
Washington State Patrol background check required. All volunteers will be asked to submit full name and date of birth for the background check, and to accept our code of conduct with children.
