Mission Statement

To Improve care for those facing life-limiting illness through direct support of patients and their families, public education and public advocacy.

Description

We're looking for caring, compassionate individuals, who wish to share their time and talents with those who suffer from a life-limiting illness.

As a 501c non-profit organization that provides services to all patients regardless of age or ability to pay, we have formed strong working relationships with various long-term care facilities, nursing homes, recreation centers, assisted living facilities, schools, churches, and corporate businesses to provide expert, passionate care in the areas of Hospice Services, Palliative Care, and End of Life Counseling to both patients and their families that suffer from a life-limiting illness.

Our interdisciplinary teams members provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support through a family-centered approach so our patients and their loved ones can enjoy their remaining time together in the setting of their choosing - receiving the up-most quality of care and 24/7 support up until the last moments of life.

Our Capital Caring volunteers serve as integral members of our team, supporting our patients and their families in a variety of different ways as needed, ranging from Patient Care Opportunities that include tasks like traveling to patients’ homes/facilities to provide additional companionship and support to the patient and their family, Administrative opportunities that encompass tasks such as phone support, medical records assistance, mailings/packagings, and data entry, Special Events, Community Outreach, Speaker's Bureau, and Professional Services, among others.

If you truly want to help enhance the quality of living for our patients and their families as they cope with a serious illness, consider volunteering with Capital Caring.

Capital Caring volunteers are core members of our team. They are diverse, spring from all walks of life, and each person brings special skills that improve our ability to offer excellent care.
