Live in China for a semester with a group of other volunteers and help children learn English in the classroom! No teaching experience needed.
Our program is different than many others because our methodology is built around 1-on-1 interactions with children in a natural way. With our program you won't be teaching in the traditional way, citing vocabulary words to a classroom packed with 60 students (yes, that's common in China). With ILP, we'll show you how to teach by immersion, by playful activities with a small group of around 8 children.
International Language Programs (ILP) is a non-profit service organization based in Orem, Utah that sends 18-25 year old volunteers to share the valuable gift of the English language with young children around the world. ILP currently has programs in China, but also in Thailand, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Romania, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic (and always welcomes new locations). Over 9,000 volunteers have served with ILP, with numbers growing quickly.
China is our largest program by far and the demand for English teachers who fluently speak English continues to grow there. Your ability to just speak English naturally is highly valuable for young children who are learning the language.
We currently have ILP groups living in Zhongshan, Suzhou, Nanjing, Changzhou, Changsha, and Weihai, China.
