Emma Norton Services works to combat poverty in our community by providing housing and supportive services to women experiencing homelessness.
Once a month, all of our front desk staff get together for a meeting. We are looking for a volunteer to cover the front desk during these hours. Responsibilities include answering the phone, taking messages, and acting as a point of reference to any residents or visitors that come to the desk. The next meeting that we would need this volunteer to cover during is September 22nd from 5-7 pm.
A volunteer in this position will be able to interact with women from many different backgrounds and be a vital part of providing services to this vulnerable population. They also make it possible for our front desk to meet and talk about ways to improve our agency and better serve these women.
There are no hard qualification for this position, but experience working a front desk is a bonus. There will be an hour or two of training (or however long it takes you to feel comfortable!) that you can schedule anytime before the next meeting. Also, front desk staff will be in the building the whole time, so if anything arises you don't know how to do, they will be ready to help!
