Emma's Place in Maplewood works to combat poverty by providing housing and supportive services to 13 families, each with 3 or more chidlren, who have experienced the scourge of homelessness. One of these supportive services that we provide is afterschool programming for the children that live here. We are currently looking for volunteers to act as an extra pair of hands during for our staff during these afterschool activities.

The days we most need volunteers are Monday and Wednesday from 3:30-6. These are the days we offer afterschool programming for our children in K-5th grade, which consists of snacks, various enriching games and activities, and tutoring. We need volunteers to act as an extra pair of hands for the staff during these hours. Occasionally, field trips are planned during these hours, and when that happens, any fees will be paid for the volunteer to join and help supervise.

If Monday and Wednesday do not work, we could also use a little help Tuesdays and Thursdays during the same time when we offer afterschool programming for our 6-12th graders.

Please be able to commit to coming at least once weekly for one semester. We'd love to have you more though!

There are no qualifications for this position other than a love for kids and an interest in helping them learn and grow!
