Grace Place is looking for volunteers to work with our Adult ELL students! As a teacher, you will work with a small group of students teaching English once a week. These students are parents in our Bright Beginnings program and come for English classes four days a week. You will plan and facilitate appropriate lessons that cater to both the language and literacy profiencey of your students. You will also model converstaion, manners, listening skills, etc for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior. You will collaborate with the volunteers teaching the other three days to create a cohesive curriculum. Prior experience teaching English to non-native speakers is not necessary, nor do you need to know another language. Orientation, training, and resources are provided. As these classes are completely volunteer taught, we ask for a weekly commitment through the entire academic year (September through May). For more information, contact Colleen Durham at 239-255-7213 or colleen.durham@graceplacenaples.org
