If you have a heart for people and would like to make a difference in your community, please consider becoming a patient volunteer.
Grace provides training to assure our volunteers are well educated in the core principles of Hospice, making sure the experience is like no other for both the patient as well as the volunteer. You will have the support of staff and medical professionals as well.
Grace offers volunteers flexibility. You can volunteer any times or days you prefer.
This is a rewarding opportunity for you as well as the patient and family as you aid in life's final days. Volunteers share conversations, quiet times just "being there", aid in writing, music or pet therapy, however you feel can benefit your time together. You will feel great knowing you participated in another person's comfort. Our volunteers often express how happy they feel in touching another person's life.
Contact our office at 616.432.2065 or visit www.ghospice.com to begin your application today.

Description
Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame. The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility
