ORGANIZATION: Family Service Rochester

Our Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) program partners with families to help older adults and people with disabilities remain living independently in their own homes. Through our grocery shopping service, volunteers are matched with an individual in need of assistance with their shopping. Volunteers either bring client's to the store, or do the client's shopping for them. Client's are responsible for all payment of groceries.

This is a great opportunity for students, businesses, families, professionals, and retirees! The schedule is up to you, we are completely flexible!

Description

Family Service Rochester (FSR) is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of services addressing mental health, child wellbeing, family stability, and senior independence.

FSR was founded in 1965 with a staff of three and the mission to support and enhance the dignity and quality of life for individuals and families in the community. From that small start-up offering counseling and homemaker services, the agency has grown to provide more than 30 programs to meet ever-changing community needs. Volunteers are vital to excellent service delivery to those individuals and families we work with.
