Help us celebrate our 50th Anniversary by volunteering at the St. Jude's Ranch for Children 50th Anniversary Golden Gala. You can volunteer for part of the event or the whole evening. See opportunities below:

Set-Up Volunteers (3 PM-7 PM): 40-50 volunteers

Volunteers will be responsible for helping set up the dining room as well as the auction room. They will assist staff in preparing silent auction table displays, dining room table décor, ballroom and cocktail room décor, etc.

These individuals will be expected to work efficiently and diligently, be able to move and lift things up to 50lb.

Event Volunteers:

Greeters (5:30PM-7:15PM): 10 volunteers

Greet guests when they first arrive, direct them to take a picture at the step and repeat, help them find the check-in desk, ballroom, etc. These volunteers must be friendly and constantly smiling. They have to feel comfortable talking to many people and know your way around the ballroom floor (i.e. where bathrooms are, parking, check-in desk, etc.) There will be standing and some walking in this position.

Check-in and registration volunteers (5:30PM-7:15PM: 3-5 volunteers

Greet guests at the check-in desk, hand out programs and bid numbers. Assist GiveSmart staff as needed. These volunteers must be friendly and constantly smiling. They have to feel comfortable talking to many people and know your way around the ballroom floor (i.e. where bathrooms are, parking, check-in desk, etc.). Volunteers will be sitting down for the most part and they have to be able to read off a list.

Silent Auction Volunteers (5:30PM-9(?)PM): 8-10 volunteers

Volunteers will help guests find and bid for items at the silent auction. They will make sure that guests don’t touch items while encouraging them to place higher bids. Once the auction is closed, they will help GiveSmart staff make item runs and check-out guests at the end of the event. Individuals must be able to stand for a while and do some walking. They must be friendly and comfortable encouraging people to bid higher. You may have to lift items up to 50lb.

Ballroom volunteers (5:30PM-9PM): 4-6

Ballrooms volunteers will be energetic individuals who are going to help the auctioneer during the live auction. Their role will be to watch guests in their section of the room and run to them when they are placing a bid to make sure the auctioneer sees them. These volunteers have to be willing to encourage guests to bid higher. Standing, walking and some running will be involved in this position.

Backstage volunteers (6PM-11PM): 3-5 volunteers

These individuals will be responsible to help the backstage crew in ensuring that the event is running on time. They will help performers be at the right place at the right time. Provide them with water or any other needs they need. These individuals will need to be able to walk and be able to stick to a schedule and problem-solve. Individuals in this position have to be friendly, efficient and diligent in their job.

Event take-down (time TBD): 10-15 volunteers

Volunteers will help SJRC and Green Valley Ranch staff in taking down all event decorations and putting away auction items that were not sold. This position requires walking, lifting objects up to 50lb. bending down. Individuals should be energetic and diligent in their work.
