The LSF tutoring program runs every Saturday, except for holidays. Our program is designed to help students from PreK-12 build skills in math and reading. The majority of our students are over 2 grade levels behind their peers at the start of the school year so we follow a schedule that is designed to help students who may not speak English at home reinforce their skills.

There are two main roles for volunteers, permanent or floater tutors. Permanent tutors attend every session (about 3 Saturdays each month) and work with the same student each week. Floater tutors act as substitutes and volunteer at least once a month. You don’t need to speak Spanish but it’s always helpful (we also have students who need help with Chinese and French if you know of anyone!) Our high school students also spend time working on homework, so advanced math and science backgrounds are welcome!
