Mission Statement
One hundred years ago the ILGWU’s Union Health Center began with a single physician in a small examining room trying to determine the extent of tuberculosis in the garment workers of New York City and to halt its spread. It became the mission of the Center to provide accessible, quality health care for immigrant garment workers. Today we serve workers, families and retirees from many unions.
Description
The Union Health Center is a patient-centered medical home multispecialty practice dedicated to serving the health care needs of union members, retirees and their families in the Greater New York metropolitan region. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art, coordinated health care services to a diverse patient population in the most efficient and effective manner possible. We strive to fulfill the interrelated goals of improved population health, a positive patient experience and cost-efficient utilization of resources.
