Rising Sun operates a workforce development program for low-income adults, preparing them to succeed in the building trades and the solar industry through our certified pre-apprenticeship program.

During our nine-week long training, in addition to hands-on skills developed in the workshop and the field, we provide significant math instruction (at least 40 hours), focusing on applied math needed for construction work.

We are looking for volunteers to provide tutoring in math to those participants who need extra help.

If you are interested in working with our participants , please get in touch as soon as possible. Our cohort is currently in session and will graduate on November 2nd.

The ideal time commitment is for 2-4 hours per week, preferably on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.

Thank you for your interest!
