Available Volunteer Opportunity: Spanish Translator
Locations: Manchester, CT
Hours: Saturdays from 9:30am-11:30am or 10am-12pm, Fall 2016. Volunteers are needed for three weeks or more of the eight week session, for 2 hours minimum each time.
Depending on your role, your tasks may include:
* Greet families arriving to the program
* Help with registration
* Engage families in conversation and translate for them when needed
Impact: By serving with this volunteer opportunity, you will be helping young children become socially, emotionally and academically prepared for kindergarten by collaboratively increasing the scope, quality and impact of local family-based programs and services.
In order to volunteer you should be:
* A registered Urban Alliance volunteer (you will have the chance to if you haven't already)
* 16 years or older
* Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
* Willing to attend an orientation and submit a BHF volunteer orientation
* Personable and willing to interact with others
* Reliable, patient and honest
* Able to speak English and Spanish fluently
A background check will be required to be placed with this volunteer opportunity.
