Board Members Wanted
The Center for Contemporary Art is currently seeking exceptional candidates for its Board of Trustees. We are interested in those who share The Center’s commitment to furthering awareness, understanding and participation in the visual arts.
Ideal candidates will ideally have knowledge and skills in specific areas such as (but not limited to) marketing, fundraising, human resources, business management or community relations. Prior Board experience is desirable but not required.
The Board meets, on average, 5 times per year. Board responsibilities include such activities as review and approval of financial reports, establishment of policies, and fundraising and marketing of our programs and events.
Specific expectations of Board Members include:
Commitment to The Center’s mission (ccabedminster.org)
Commitment to governance and decision-making
Commitment to diversity in Board membership and staff
Membership on at least one Standing Committee
Commitment to fundraising, including attendance at fundraising events
Willingness to actively promote The Center’s mission and programs to the community at large
Willingness to participate in Board Member orientation and training
An annual financial contribution

To provide a vibrant, contemporary cultural center through arts education, exhibitions and community outreach that will inspire creativity and enhance people’s lives.
Description
The Center for Contemporary Art is a vibrant regional art center with studio art classes, a summer art camp, rotating exhibitions and community outreach programs.
Art classes for children and adults are offered in painting (oils, acrylic and watercolor), ceramics, pottery, drawing, pastels, photography and more. Exhibitions of contemporary art are presented in three galleries, as well as annual members’, international juried and youth art month exhibits. Outreach programs bring art experiences to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, at-risk youth, seniors, adults with disabilities and people affected by cancer.
The Center is located in a fully-accessible facility in Bedminster, Somerset County in Central NJ with convenient access to routes I-78, I-287, and 202/206.
