Holding Out HELP is hoping to begin offering an after-school program to people we serve from polygamy. The individuals and families we serve are often behind in school due to a lack of education, but are very bright individuals. The hope is to offer tutoring for every age and level - ranging from pre-k to college. We are in need of both English and Math/Science tutors. WE NEED YOU!
We are looking for educated and passionate individuals who are confident teaching/tutoring. We also ask that each volunteer commit to tutoring once a week for a 3 hour shift (either Tuesday or Thursday, from 4pm-7pm).
*Start date will be in October, actual date TBD

Mission Statement
Holding Out HELP provides those who come from a polygamous culture the resources needed to transition from isolation to independence.
Description
Holding Out HELP (HOH) provides shelter, clothing, food, education and counseling for those who come from a polygamous background. HOH has been serving this population for many years and has diligently worked to understand the polygamist culture they are coming from and how best to overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency. They often flee with no money and often only the clothes on their back. Most have never opened a bank account, stepped foot in a public school, created a resume or associated with those outside their community. HOH staff and volunteers are trained to provide care that is sensitive to their culture and to aid their efforts towards self-sufficiency.
