Sterling Elementary has a need for volunteer Mentors and Tutors for some students in grades 1-5. We provide training and, once we have found your perfect match, will coordinate around your schedule. All Mentor/Tutoring will take place at the school during normal school hours (8:00am-2:15pm).
We ask our Mentors to visit with their student two times a month, for approximately 30 minutes. You can eat with your Mentee in the school cafeteria, or read/color/play board games in the library. Tutors are asked to visit once a week for approximately 30-45 minutes to help with the reading and/or math assignments. Volunteers will be asked to complete an on line background check through the district, and will need a valid picture ID to gain entrance.
If you are interested in applying, or would just like some more information on our request, please use the contact information on this form.
