The Blackhawk Church Food Pantry Garden is a 2-acre farm where volunteers work to grow produce to be donated to local food pantries. Volunteers are guided by a garden team leader in carrying out various tasks, such as planting, weeding and harvesting. No gardening experience is necessary.

There is no shade at the garden. Volunteers should bring a water bottle; a cap/hat, sunscreen and bug spray are also recommended, depending on the time of day one chooses to volunteer. Attire should be appropriate for garden work. After a recent rain old tennis shoes are recommended, due to possible mud. Closed-toed footware is encouraged at all times. Gardening gloves are available for usage at the garden, though volunteers may prefer to bring their own.

Additional work session throughout the week can be arraged for groups.
