ORGANIZATION: GIRLS LEADING GIRLS INC

Girls Leading Girls is a nonprofit based in San Francisco, that trains women in leadership and life skills through soccer. The Operations and Programs intern is responsible for researching and designing organizational processes and systems, program design and impact evaluation, marketing strategies, grants and foundation research, event planning, public relations, fundraising, community outreach, and social media.

They will work directly with the Founding Executive Director to help build the organization from the ground up with room for growth, autonomy, and creativity.
Primary duties and responsibilities are to:
> Assist GLG with new program designs, implementation, and evaluation.
> Research grants and create proposals for GLG's various projects and programs.
> Analyze data about new community programs to be launched and provide recommendations onprogram implementation.
> Conduct marketing outreach, public relations, press releases in the SF and Bay Area community to increase local support.
> Some administration work including- database management, social media management, direct mailings, donor correspondence, event planning, fundraising, and volunteer coordination.
*Internship dates are flexible starting in the Fall and Spring for a minimum of 3 months at 8-12 hours a week. We are flexible on the days and times based on the interns school schedule.

Description

Our programs focus on three main areas: skill development through soccer training and competitive play, leadership training through our junior coaches and career mentoring programs, and character building through our community service initiatives both home and abroad. To date, we have over 200 girls in our programs from various socio-economic backgrounds and ages.
