The Housing Authority of St. Louis County (HASLC) is looking for gardeners to help with our community garden project.
HASLC is committed to widening our social impact within the community. Our newest initiative involves the development of a community garden.
Gardeners are needed to help maintain the community garden located at our Main Office in St. Louis, MO. All materials and tools will be provided by the Housing Authority and our partner organizations. This volunteer opportunity will begin mid-May 2018 and is on-going.
Volunteers will be responsible for the planting, watering, growing, pruning, and weeding of vegetables and flowers.
Requirements:
Must enjoy:

- pruning and weeding
- pest control
- fertilizing plants
- identifying plants
- maintaining gardening tools
- soil maintenance
- teaching and leading volunteers/helpers

Description
The Housing Authority of St. Louis County primarily provides affordable housing options through the use of Housing Choice Vouchers and the Public Housing Program. However, HASLC seeks to promote literacy among the children within the Public Housing Program. Our Summer Reading program seeks to foster a love for reading among children while providing them a nutritious meal.
