The Housing Authority of St. Louis County (HASLC) is looking for experienced gardeners to help lead our community garden project.
HASLC is committed to widening our social impact within the community. Our newest initiative involves the development of a community garden.
Experienced gardeners are needed to help start a garden club that will oversee the community garden located at our Main Office in Normandy, MO. All materials and tools will be provided by the Housing Authority and our partner organizations. This volunteer opportunity will start with the planning phase in early October and is on-going.
Volunteers will be responsible for the planting, watering, growing, pruning, and weeding of vegetables and flowers.
At least 3 years of experience:
- planning gardens
- planting, watering, and growing plants, vegetables & flowers
- pruning and weeding
- pest control
- fertilizing plants
- identifying plants
- maintaining gardening tools
- soil maintenance
- teaching and leading volunteers/helpers
