Join the City of Arroyo Grande for the annual Halloween Carnival on October 29, 2016! The City is recruiting volunteers to assist with preparation the day prior to the event, during the event and clean-up crew the following day. Jobs vary in length and teams/businesses/groups are welcome to participate together. For the Halloween Carnival & Maze, volunteers are needed to assist with the set-up of fencing, lighting, BBQ, and maze set-up. For those who are creative and interested in getting into the spirit of Halloween, maze decorators are also being sought. During the event, volunteer tour guides, cashiers, judges for pumpkin and costume contests and carnival workers all make this community event a great success. On the Sunday following the event, lights, fencing and maze all need to come down! For more information or to sign up to volunteer, email sbohlken@arroyogrande.org or call 805.473-5473. Description
The City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department is responsible for providing recreation and leisure opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages. These programs are offered with the hope that they not only meet the community's interests, but also inspire residents to try something new. The City offers community members adult and youth programs and classes, sport leagues, childcare programs, and special events which are highlighted in a seasonal Activity Guide. Specifically, the Recreation Services Department manages scheduling and reservations for all recreational facilities, including parks and barbeque areas, community centers, and athletic fields. The Department also provides staff support for the Parks & Recreation Commission's monthly meetings.
