Sierra House is looking for volunteers to assist with our 1st Annual Greenwood Community Street Festival. The goal of the festival is to empower residents to become more involved in the community. By bringing residents together, we hope to raise public awareness and empower not only residents, but also business owners and other stakeholders to participate in the Greenwood Neighborhood Revitalization planning process.
The festival will feature new artists, a jazz band, and DJ. Other activities include gardening, face painting, and a bouncy house. Volunteers are needed to assist with children activities, provide information to the community, set-up for the event, clean-up after the event, and distribute food and prizes. Groups of all sizes are welcomed. Need 100 volunteers.

Description
Sierra House Entrepreneur Leadership Program, SHELP, is a community based volunteer program that operates in partnership with urban schools to teach students business ownership and managerial skills. As participants of this program students will gain healthy socialization, leadership skills, and business ownership skills. SHELP's staff of dedicated professionals will provide a team work approach. The services delivered will teach students how to work together in a cohesive environment, use decision-making skills, develop a solid work ethic and inform them of productive options that are available. Each student will focus on a group and a personal development plan that is designed to address distinct issues. This 6 month program accommodates up to 20, eleventh grade students. Classes will be conducted once a month after-school or on Saturday's for 1 hour and 30 minutes by arrangement of school personnel. The classes will be arranged to portray a business-like environment and all lessons will use real life businesses and scenarios to teach the students. All sessions will be held in a classroom at the student's current school.
