We are looking for a few people to hit the ground running to help spread the word and works of Abby's Gift. We are going on our 5th year and now that we have our feet solid on the ground, we want people to know what we do and how they can help terminally-ill kids and their families.

Mission Statement
helping critically and terminally-ill children and their families, funeral and burial assistance, pediatric hospice assistance, sibling grief care...
Description
It is hard to speak of death, especially the death of a child. We want to think that children fight cancer and disease and get better, not die. But the reality is that children die too. It's a heartbreaking journey that no family ever hopes for, plans for, or should endure. But, it's very real. Abby’s Gift focuses on the immediate physical, emotional, and financial needs of families with a terminally ill child under hospice care. Because of our hospice journey with Abby, the following are just a few of the needs we experienced and offer through Abby’s Gift:
* more appropriate home health equipment (equipment suited for a child may not be available through the hospice provider or covered by insurance; most equipment is appropriate for adult-size only)
* financial assistance for funeral and burial services (like most businesses, a payment plan is often offered but this is something that no family should have to endure)

Abby's Gift began in 2011 by Clyde, Melinda and Ashlin Gordon and is 100% volunteer operated. This allows donations to go directly to our mission and purpose, not to staffing and operations. We are governed by a board of directors and a medical advisory team. Assistance provided to patients/families is based solely upon recommendations from the patient physician, hospice nurse, or social worker.
