Actors Ensemble of Berkeley regularly produces two summer productions each year in the fabulous John Hinkel Park Amphitheater in north Berkeley.

We are looking for folks interested in helping backstage and with rehearsals - we will train! There is a small amount of monetary reimbursement available for travel and associated costs. We have regularly had students (even High School students) as Assistant Stage Managers and even as Stage Managers. Some mild physical labor may be necessary to help with setup and teardown. A great opportunity for learning!

These productions are free-of-charge, performances are on weekend afternoons. This year our first production is "Much Ado About Nothing" by Shakespeare, opening June 29th and performing weekends at 4 p.m. plus July 4th till July 14th. Our second production is "The Imaginary Invalid", opening August 24th and performing weekends at 4 p.m. plus Labor Day Monday until September 8th. Rehearsals for "Much Ado" begin May 14th and will be Tuesday-Friday evenings in and near downtown Berkeley, plus some weekend days in the park itself. Rehearsals for "Invalid" will begin the week of July 8th and follow a similar schedule, though more probably Sunday-Thursday evenings.
