Did you know that only 18% of Computer Science degrees in the United States are awarded to women. Women's involvement in computer science has plummeted. In the past 20 years it has dropped by 40%.

Lancaster Science Factory is proud to present Girls Code Club to address this urgent issue and inspire the next generation of female computer scientists.

Girls Code Club is seeking female volunteers ages 16+ who can commit to at least 5 sessions over the 9 months of the program (October-June). Sessions are held monthly on the 1st Saturday of the month from 9-11:30am third Thursday of the month from 4-5:30pm & 6-7:30pm. Volunteers do not need to be programming professionals. We use guided tutorials and game-style web applications to explore programming concepts and build cool things. If you have a general familiarity with computers and want to help girls learn, we welcome you. Come enjoy the satisfaction and reward of watching girls conquer the challenges of coding -- you'll be hooked!
