The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. The StarVista Crisis Center has great volunteer opportunities!
Volunteer on our 24-hour Crisis Line. Provide an empathic ear to callers, do crisis intervention, and offer referrals. No experience necessary - we train! Volunteers receive extensive training and ongoing support as they broaden their knowledge base and hone their listening skills. Excellent opportunity for those interested in the counseling or psychology fields, or for those who just want to give something back to their community.
Volunteer Requirements * Must be at least 21 * At least a one-year minimum commitment * Able to take at least one 4 hour per week * Must be able to attend volunteer training (Tues & Thurs evening and one Saturday; 5 week training)
Training for this round starts September 25th, 2018 and ends on October 25th, 2018; every Tues and Thurs from 6-9pm.
