Marinette County CASA Volunteer Information Session
ORGANIZATION: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Brown County
Please visit the new page to apply.
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs recruit, screen and train everyday citizens from the community to advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children until the court case is closed and they have found safe and permanent homes. CASA Volunteers visit with the child weekly and submit monthly reports to the Judge about the child’s safety and well-being. A child with a CASA Volunteer is more likely to find a safe, permanent home, get more help with other services, have a consistent adult presence in their life, spend less time in foster care, and do better in school!

Mission Statement
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Brown County is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that provides a voice for abused and neglected children who are under the legal protection of the court system.
Description
Every year more than half a million children who have experienced abuse or neglect are in need of safe, permanent homes. That's where CASA steps in. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The result is that a child is placed into a safe home where he/she can thrive. It is the CASA vision to provide a volunteer for each and every child who has experienced abuse or neglect.
