We are seeking for native/proficient Spanish speaking volunteers to teach Language Arts in Spanish at the Centro Hispano Marista. The main focus is to teach the students how to wirite an essay and improve their reading comprehension skills.
You do not need to be an educator to teach at the Centro. Our teachers are all wonderful volunteers that come from very different backgrounds. What they all have in common is a heart for teaching and a desire to help the less fortunate improve their future through education.
Books, syllabus and training are provided. Classes are every Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, at Marist School in Brookhaven, Ga. Classes start on Tuesday February 7th for the Spring semester and run through the end of May. There is a new student workshop on Tuesday January 17th, from 7 to 9 pm.
Our main goal is to prepare our students, mostly young Hispanic adults, to complete the GED program and obtain their diploma.
Make volunteering at the Centro part of your New Year's resolution! We would love to have you join our team!
