SoCal Parrot is a 501(c)3 non-profit rescue that cares for southern California's wild parrots. Although most of the animals at our Jamul sanctuary are wild parrots, we also have goats, chickens, ducks, koi, and turtles. We have volunteers who care for the parrot enclosures, and are currently in need of someone to specifically look after the farm area and its residents.
As a Farm Assistant volunteer, you will be at the sanctuary one day a week for 3 to 4 hours. Tasks for this role include: raking the goat area, cleaning the chicken area, scrubbing the duck pond, and some general restocking/maintenance as needed.
This role is perfect for someone who would like more hands-on animal care experience, or someone who really enjoys farm animals and understands what it takes to keep them happy.
