IPPL is amazed by all the support thus far from volunteers reaching out to help our ape and otter sanctuary. With that said, we are still currently not accepting volunteers right now with COVID-19 numbers still actively high in the Summerville area. We will be working on scheduled supervised projects throughout, please email meg@ippl.org for more details. Thank you for your patience and willingness to help at IPPL!!

About INTERNATIONAL PRIMATE PROTECTION LEAGUE

Location:

PO BOX 766, SUMMERVILLE, SC 29484, US

Mission Statement

IPPL is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the world’s remaining primates, great and small. Our goal is to keep these uniquely threatened animals safe from human cruelty, negligence, and exploitation, envisioning a world where all primates can thrive in their native habitats. We also offer advisory and financial support for activities that promote the well-being of monkeys and apes, both in the U.S. and overseas.

Description

Since 1973, we have worked to expose primate abuse and battled international traffickers. We also operate a sanctuary for gibbons (the smallest of the apes) in South Carolina for rescued gibbons who have come to us for a lifetime of compassionate care after former "careers" as laboratory subjects, discarded pets, and zoo exhibits.
