Who We Are Looking For:
CIVIC's theory of change is unique, and few foundations have grant guidelines specifically in the field of immigration detention. As a small, start-up nonprofit in a niche field, we are looking for a fundraising consultant volunteer who has experience helping small nonprofits build their individual donor base and access new foundations.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for someone who can work with the co-founders/executive directors to create fundraising plans and help in implementing and evaluating those plans; research prospective donors and develop and execute plans to cultivate these new donors; evaluate and recommend structural changes in the organization to improve fundraising efficiency; and possibly help build a team of fundraising volunteers.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a degree in business, arts administration, marketing, or communications; previous fundraising experience; strong communication skills; marketing skills; proven experience in budgeting and managing money; and strong organizational skills. This is not an entry-level position.

Mission Statement
CIVIC is the national visitation network, which is working to end U.S.immigration detention. We monitor human rights abuses, elevate stories, build community-based alternatives to detention, and advocate for system change.
Description
Since 2009, CIVIC has spearheaded the U.S. immigration detention visitation movement, helping to grow the cadre of visitor volunteers from under 100 at 4 facilities to over 1,400 at over immigration detention facilities today. The heart of our work is immigration detention visitation programs. These programs connect people in detention to a volunteer who visits them weekly, providing them with a connection to outside resources, while also holding space for them. For a few minutes each week in the visitation booth, detained immigrants know they are safe and not forgotten. Our ability to monitor detention conditions, develop successful alternatives to detention, and advocate for change is possible because of the relationships being built between people in detention and those on the outside. Find out more at www.EndIsolation.org We hope you will join the movement!
