Inventory Control & Management

ORGANIZATION: Animal House Project

Animal House Project needs help with Inventory Management and Control of the donated food that comes into our Pantry and the food that goes out!! Also. we are looking for a Volunteer that can help schedule donation deliveries into the Pantry with trucking companies and/or the donors themselves.

This position is critical to the success of Animal House Project's Mission Statement. Every 4 seconds another companion pet enters a shelter/rescue in the United States. That is 21,600 pets per day; 151,200 pets per week and 7.8 million pets per year. Nearly, 50% of the companion pets that enter the rescues and shelters never find a new home and sadly are euthanized. Five out of 10 dogs are killed in shelters; 7 out of 10 cats are also killed. Of the many millions of dogs and cats surrendered to shelters or abandoned each year in the United States, approximately one million + surrenders/abandonments were due to the owner’s financial inability to care for their pets, this includes feeding and providing basic veterinary care.

Right now in the United States, we are facing a crisis with rescues and shelters. The number of animals being abandoned or surrendered in addition to the number of kittens and puppies entering into the shelters is at an alarming rate. Rescues and Shelters are facing decreasing financial help while increasing operational costs.

That is why the Rescue Pet Food Pantry under the Animal House Project's organizational structure is so critical. We receive Manufacturer's donated food that cannot be given to Pet Food Pantries and in turn are able to get it into the Rescues/Shelters that need the food. The donated food that we have received has been given to rescues/shelters from Massachusetts to Georgia to Mississippi and Kansas.

We need help with Inventory Management; Logistics; Supply Chain Management and we need it fast as this division in and or itself is growing.
