A.I.R. Project is having a charitable community event Soles for A.I.R. in October in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness and National Bullying Prevention Awareness month.

Soles for A.I.R. will be providing shoes and socks to children and youth who are victims or witnesses of various forms of abuse such as sexual assault, child abuse, bullying, and domestic violence. This event will also have family activities for the family and community to come and participate in.

Onsite registration volunteers will help with verifying pre-registration for handing out shoes and socks, assist with handing out shoes and socks, or help with onsite registration for general event attendees (those who are not receiving shoes and socks but are enjoying the activities)

Volunteers will be required to attend a pre-event training and instruction meeting. Assistance preparing the pre-registered orders may be requested to help the day of process run smoother.

Volunteers are asked to be available from 9am-3pm (this can be flexible on a case by case basis).

Please check your email (including spam/junk folder) for a follow up reply from air@abuseisreal.com and please provide a good contact number to be reached at.

Kindly,

Mission Statement

To empower youth and families in communities of color to defeat abuse and bullying through prevention education, artistic expression, social and emotional learning and providing positive quality of life experiences.

Description

We are humanitarians helping and educating victims and at risk youth and young adults (ages 8-18) of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, bullying and other forms of abuse and violence.

We believe that society as a whole is affected rather directly or indirectly when someone is a victim of abuse or violence. We also believe that when we work together and create a joint effort between our victims and communities that we can have stronger homes, communities, and societies.
