HOUSTON MUSEUM OF DECORATIVE ARTS
The Houston Museum of Decorative Arts seeks enthusiastic docents to help carry out the daily operations of one of America's greatest small museums! Docents are currently needed on Saturday and be available 2 days per month, to work a shift of 12-4 pm. Serious respondents only need apply. Younger people are encouraged to contact us, we love your energy!
Those with a knowledge of Antiques are preferred, but those seeking to learn about antiques and who have a genuine interest are encouraged to apply. Applicants should feel comfortable talking in front of one to two people and/or small groups.
Docents will give tours and work in the gift shop while also working behind the scenes helping with many duties that if asked, include office tasks, newsletter publication, general cleaning, event preparation and of course our annual antique show and sale.
Meet new people and share your love of the past by volunteering a few hours a week! Prepare yourself to work with some of the nicest people in a beautiful setting, while learning about antiques, glass, furniture, textiles and so, so much more!

The Mission of the Houston Museum is to showcase and preserve the unique decorative arts collection of the late Anna Safley Houston and to use it for education and enrichment.
The Houston Museum is a non profit, 501;c3 organization, run by a Board of Trustees who ensure the protection, conservation and exhibition of the collection.
