Engineer/Science/Communication Mentors needed for specific dates/times

ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Central Texas

Girl Scouts of Central Texas (GSCTX) is in need of professionals who can commit 2 hrs and offer Girl Scouts between ages of 9-17 assistance with their challenge project. The challenge is a 4 week process where they are assianged an Austin related engineering challenge relating to either water and drought management, transportation and traffic problems, or green or sustainable building challenges. Over the 4 weeks the various Girl Scout teams are offered 3 dates to come and meet with mentors that might help shed light on their assigned challenge, help clarify team's ideas, explain the various factors that may have yet to be considered, present ways to approach the challenge and give insight to these issues. Mentors may also be asked to give recommendations on how to present finding/ideas or how to find a way to show their results.

If you like science fairs, teaching science, and engineering and would like to help inspire young minds, this volunteer opportunity is for you!
