Friendly Connections' Telephone Groups offer an assortment of educational, social and enrichment opportunities for those who choose to "meet" over the phone. Conducted entirely over the telephone, groups cover a wide variety of topics designed for older adults who are interested in continuing their education, stay social and remain connected to their communities.
Volunteers are needed to conduct telephone based groups. Topics can vary from current events, to book clubs to bingo to healthy living, to sharing stories from a trip around the world, and so on. Volunteers can conduct the call from any location as long as there is access to a phone.
Older adults can take advantage of Friendly Connections’ innovative in-person and telephone-based services designed for the older adult and homebound population, continuing to socialize, stimulating their educational interests and most importantly, staying connected with the community.
Do you have 1 or 2 hours each week to give back to your community and enhance the quality of life for an older adult? If you said yes, consider volunteering with Friendly Connections!

Mission Statement
Family Centers' mission is to empower children, adults, families and communities to realize their potential. Our NAEYC accredited preschools, school-based social work, parental education and adolescent counseling services, give families the resources they need to ensure their children have the bright beginnings they deserve. A comprehensive network of counseling and support services is also instrumental in helping families in crisis work toward a successful resolution. Vocational training, housing resources, counseling and self sufficiency programs also help low-income people and those with long-term mental illness realize their dreams of living independently. Meanwhile, our senior outreach programs encourage lifelong learning, socialization and support.
