GIVE BACK FILL THE GAP. ReServe redefines a career arc for persons age 55+ to include skill based volunteering 10-20 hours a week with a stipend in the nonprofit sector. ReServe matches experienced professionals seeking to give back to their communities with local nonprofits in DC, MD, and VA to help them carry out their missions and to have a social impact.
ReServe is currently seeking Health Care Professionals to support a number of nonprofits in the DC Metropolitan area. Health care professionals are needed to provide dementia care coaching for caregiver caring for persons with dementia and persons in the early stage of dementia. The duties and responsibilities of dementia care coaches are to: defines and set goals for the person with dementia and the caregiver. Cultivates an environment to maximize the diagnosed person’s independence. Helps families better understand the disease. Assess for safety in the home & recommends measures that meet home safety requirements. Creates strategies to minimize symptoms. Restores a sense of normalcy in the home to the extent possible. Teaches techniques and skills to paid and non paid caregivers to reduce stress. Provides support and structure in dealing with the disease. Develops solutions to on-going, dementia-related problems. Increases caregiver confidence through education. Creates teamwork among family members and the caregiver. Engages the client Provides respite care when needed. Connects families and caregivers to community resources.

ReServists can do great things for their communities while they put their professional expertise to work on part-time service projects, in exchange for a modest hourly stipend.
Description
ReServists provide direct services, administrative support, and capacity-building expertise in schools, social service agencies, cultural institutions, and public agencies. Many use their experience with ReServe to launch new careers in the nonprofit sector.
ReServe is supported by private and public grants and individual donations. The ReServist stipend is paid by the employers, who also pay a small program fee.
ReServe(r) is a subsidiary of Fedcap(r).
