NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Mercer
Helpline - Volunteers take calls and respond to emails from people with questions about mental illness and, using our resources, suggest options to the caller. Training required and provided.
Skills: Spanish speaking, patience, compassionate listening, ability to identify the callers’ problems and give them the information they need.
Intermediate or above skills with MS Office 365.
Frequency: at least one shift per week on a regular schedule, 3.5 hours per shift, daytime hours

Description
NAMI Mercer meets the challenge of mental illness by Providing opportunities for mutual support and education for families and friends of people coping with the challenges of mental illness. Advocating for a system of care which will assure effective and evidence-based services for those who are affected by brain disorders. Promoting understanding and accceptance of those with mental illness and eliminating the stigma associated with brain disorders.
