Apply today to join Thinkery's elite group of teen volunteers, the VolunTeens. VolunTeens is a career-readiness program that provides meaningful work experience, mentorship, and 21st centry skill building in a fun, supportive and playful environment. Teens age 12-18 volunteer behind-the-scenes and "on-the-floor" in the galleries, facilitating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities with a diverse audience.
After applications and attending a group interview, a cohort of 15-20 outstanding teens are selected and onboarded cyclically. Onboarding happens each Fall, Spring and Summer. During the school year, teens attend mandatory trainings most Saturdays of that semester, and in the summer each weekday for four concecutive weeks. Applications open for upcoming semesters at the end of the cycle prior.

Description
Thinkery is where Austin’s children and their families come to enjoy play-based, inquiry-rich, hands-on learning experiences. Thinkery offers 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor activities designed to let children and families learn through play.
Through a variety of hands-on, interactive STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) exhibits and programs, Thinkery encourages physical, emotional, and cognitive development for young learners and fosters joyful curiosity for all ages. Our target ages are newborns through eleven years old, but our interactive experiences are designed to engage learners of all ages!
Thinkery strives to be an inclusive, friendly, inspiring space to learn for our entire community, regardless of income, mental/physical abilities, ethnicity, nationality, race, sexual orientation, gender expression/identity, or family status.
