Troop Volunteers Needed for Whittier Brownie 3rd & 4th Graders

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming

Girl Scouts strives to provide scouting to every girl. Not every girl has the opportunity to attend a traditional troop regularly outside of school. Our office in Great Falls is determined to not let this stand in the way by taking the Girl Scout Leadership Experience into elementary schools during school hours. We currently have troops that meet during their lunch time at Whittier that we are able to implement Discover, Connect, and Take Action lessons with! We cannot have these troops without AMAZING volunteers who step up to run these programs.

Our group, Brownie 3rd & 4th graders meet once a month on the various dates listed below. If you are interested in attending a seasonal troop meeting, please email Kali Jean Tuckerman at kalijeant@gsmw.org to get more information.

The 2016-2017 Brownie 3rd & 4th graders schedule at Whittier Elementary School is as follows:

Time: 11:30-12:10
Dates: October 10, November 14, December 12, January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, and May 8.

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place!

Description

Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low assembled 18 girls from Savannah, Georgia, on March 12, 1912, for a local Girl Scout meeting. She believed that all girls should be given the opportunity to develop physically, mentally, and spiritually. With the goal of bringing girls out of isolated home environments and into community service and the open air, Girl Scouts hiked, played basketball, went on camping trips, learned how to tell time by the stars, and studied first aid.

Within a few years, Daisy's dream for a girl-centered organization was realized. Today, Girl Scouts of the USA has a membership of over 3.2 million girls and adults, a significant growth from its modest beginnings nearly a century ago. In fact, more than 59 million women in the U.S. today are Girl Scout alumnae. We invite you to learn about our robust organization and its rich history. From our willingness to tackle important societal issues, to our commitment to diversityand inclusiveness--Girl Scouts is dedicated to every girl, everywhere.
