The Historic Old School is excited to work with individuals who are at least 18 years of age and interested in giving back to the community. The Historic Old School is an extension of Trillum Family Services' Children's Farm Home campus, which serves youth struggling with mental illness. The Historic Old School is a community hub, providing accessible cafe and conference services to the public and businesses in the area. Proceeds benefit children and families being served at Trillium Family Services.
Training:
Trillium staff provide training about job expectations, Trillium’s mission, and the agency’s history.
Volunteers are needed for the following areas:
Cafe & Conferences Wait Staff
Volunteers assist in the kitchen and dining room by attending to patrons and serving delicious fare.
Gift Shop and Museum Staff
Volunteers assist with point of sale transactions, organizing inventory, and providing a pleasant customer service experience to visitors.

Description
Built in 1925 with funds donated by the Oregon Legislature, the Old School educated the thousands of children who lived at the Children’s Farm Home before it was closed in 1978.
Its legacy was honored when it wasplaced on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 and subsequently on the Benton County Register of Historic Resources in 2008.
Today, the Historic Old School is home to a cafe, gift shop, museum, and conference space that is open to the public. Proceeds from the services offered at the Historic Old School, which resides on the campus of the Children's Farm Home, benefit children and families experiencing mental health crises.
