Help a local business entrepeneur connect with customers at markets and festivals this fall. Get out side and enjoy the perks of volunteering in the same space some great food is made.
The Festival and Market volunteer will assist with managing the case register, recording orders and general customer service so that the Spice Kitchen Incubator* refugee chef can focus on food prep. While a Food Handlers Permit is preferred, it is not required.
Markets are Thursdays and Sundays, 8-3ish, but any volunteer help for shifts of 3+ hours would be a huge help for a client trying to get their business off the ground!
If you are interested, please email volunteerSLC@rescue.org with the title of the position in the subject line.

Mission Statement
The International Rescue Committee serves refugees and communities victimized by oppression or violent conflict worldwide. Founded in 1933, the IRC is committed to freedom, human dignity, and self-reliance. This commitment is expressed in emergency relief, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement assistance, and advocacy.
Description
Each year, thousands of refugees are invited by the U.S. government to seek safety and freedom. Forced to flee conflict or persecution, many refugees have survived against incredible odds. Refugees step off the plane with next to nothing but their dignity, hope, and determination. In Salt Lake City, the IRC helps approximately 500 refugees each year to rebuild their lives.
