Come out and join the fun and festivities as a volunteer at the 2016 Jingle Bell Run! This is a chip timed 5K race and a 1K fun run/walk with parties before and after the race at the beautiful Anatole Hotel in downtown Dallas. This year part of the race wil be on the new Trinity Strand Trail which runs along the old Trinity River Channel through the Design District We need 200 volunteers to help with registration, along the race route, working with Sponsors, handing out tee-shirts and lots of other fun jobs. The Jingle Bell Run benefits two great community nonprofit organizations, the Trinity Strand Trail and the Dallas Mavs Foundation. You can wear your best elf and reindeer geat, put bells on your toes and join the holiday fun as a volunteer at this great event this year. All volunteers will receive an exclusive race tee shirt and an invitation to the After Party at the Anatole where we'll have food, beverages, great music and even more fun!

Mission Statement
Build a 7.8-mile non-motorized hike/bike commuter and recreational trail, which will connect the Katy Trail to the Trinity River and provide Dallas citizens access to the Southwestern Medical District, Dallas Market Center, Stemmons Corridor businesses and the Design District.
Description
In 2002, a group of dedicated individuals formed the Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail to spearhead the planning, construction and enhancement of a 7.8 mile non-motorized hike and bike trail along the original Trinity River watercourse. The old Trinity River winds through the commercial areas just northwest of downtown Dallas between Stemmons Freeway and the now levied Trinity River floodway. This commuter and recreational trail will connect the Katy Trail to the Trinity River and also provide Dallas citizens access to the Southwestern Medical District, Dallas Market Center, Stemmons Corridor businesses and the Dallas Design District.
