Client Tom C comments: "I am overwhelmed with Shepherd's Center helping me!"

About

If you have any availability during weekdays, your elderly neighbors and friends could use your help getting to critical medical and food bank appointments. Please consider using your personal time and automobile to provide driving assistance to our clients. Our driving is performed during weekdays generally between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our clients reside in the western side of Fairfax County in/around the communities of Clifton, Centreville, and Chantilly. Destination offices and clinics are spread across NoVa.

Duties include accessing our Ride Scheduler web tool to access the list of open drives needed by our clients, accepting any drive that fits your personal schedule, contacting the client to confirm the details and arrange a pickup, driving to the destination, providing hands-off assistance, returning the client to their home, and logging your volunteer time and mileage.

We provide all our volunteers with liability insurance coverage for you and your car. We also provide an annual report of your donated time and miles for your use in filing income taxes.
