DC Stop Modern Slavery (DC SMS) is an all-volunteer non-profit located in Washington, D.C. We are a dynamic group of individuals united by our desire to combat human trafficking. We do this by educating the community and raising awareness.

DC SMS is proud to offer the position of Community Outreach Director to a qualified applicant interested in making an impact in combating human trafficking. The Community Outreach Director serves as a member of the DC SMS Leadership Team and manages the Community Outreach Team. This team represents DC SMS at community events throughout the year to raise awareness about human trafficking and services we offer. They also work to establish and enhance relationships with other anti-trafficking groups in the DC area in order to reinforce our collaborative efforts to combat human trafficking.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with the movement against trafficking in persons in it’s various forms as it occurs internationally, domestically and around the DC metro area. Excellent organizational skills, research skills and the ability to engage diverse groups of people are highly desired. Stop Modern Slavery is an all volunteer organization so dedication to the team and reliability are paramount. The minimum time commitment is 5-10 hours per month. The position is quite fitting for those who are looking to volunteer their time during evenings and weekends.
